Located in trivago’s headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, we’re looking for an enthusiastic English speaker with excellent knowledge of the Indian market to support our international content team. In this internship, you will be responsible for improving the offer of hotel-information displayed on trivago in India and other Asian countries. This involves conducting market research, creating photo collages as well as managing trivago’s local online community to crowd-source relevant hotel information. Your tasks:

• You conduct market research and ensure all points of interests in your local market can easily be found by trivago users.
• You build up an online community for India to crowd-source hotel information and reviews.
• You research content gaps on hotel information and think of creative ways of involving trivago’s online community to fill these gaps. You then organise and manage these projects.
• You contact local providers for hotel reviews to negotiate cooperation’s.
• Tapping into your creative side, you arrange hotel photo’s in appealing collages.
• You work closely with cross-functional teams from Hotel Relations and Online Marketing to strategically optimise the user experience for travellers from India.
• You learn to strategically test the site’s usability to ensure correct display of information and layout of the site.

Your profile:

• You are a student or recent graduate and looking for a paid internship in Dusseldorf, Germany.
• You hold a valid working permit for Germany.
• You speak English at a native level and have excellent knowledge of the tourism market in India. If you’ve lived in India or another Asian country, that would be a plus.
• You’re comfortable using Excel.
• Basic html knowledge would be a plus. If you’ve written a blog before, let us know!
• You’re a self-starter who can work well independently and who enjoys pursuing objectives – with the aim of moving trivago forward.
• You have a strong mind-set for continuous improvement and a hunger to learn new things.
• Things move quickly here, so you must have the ability to think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion.
