Die gemeinsame Digital-Engineering-Fakultät der Universität Potsdam und des HPI bietet ein deutschlandweit einmaliges und besonders praxisnahes ingenieurwissenschaftliches Informatikstudium an. Das HPI betreibt weltweit beachtete universitäre Forschung. Schwerpunkt der HPI-Lehre und -Forschung sind die Grundlagen und Anwendungen großer, hochkomplexer und vernetzter IT-Systeme. Im Projekt openHPI betreiben wir eine der bekanntesten deutschen Lernplattformen, MOOCs. Das openHPI-Team bietet offene Online-Kurse für große Nutzerzahlen an, entwickelt die Software dafür und betreibt die notwendige Infrastruktur. Neben openHPI betreiben wir auch weitere Plattformen, u. a. für SAP, die World Health Organization oder das BMBF. Insgesamt betreut das openHPI-Team so derzeit über 3 Millionen Lernende. Wir entwickeln unsere Plattform nicht nur als Produkt, sondern auch zur Beantwortung aktueller Forschungsfragen.
