The buyer is responsible for scouting, sourcing, verifying and purchasing of the core commodities to ensure Samsung products’ competitiveness in technology, price and quality are retained. This position holds equal responsibilities as the senior members of the team. You will initially be trained on the required skillsets of the trade, then work side by side with the team members on individually assigned commodities/projects. Duties require direct engagement with suppliers and HQ counterparts on the projects which have multi-million business potential, fully exposed to the business process of purchasing.
This position is initially offered as a 6-month internship, during which the candidate’s potential and suitability will be tested with the aim to potentially offer permanent employment.

Role and Responsibility:
- Lead communication, interfacing between Samsung HQ R&D/Procurement team and the companies that supply core technology components
- Observe the market and strategically source core components which deliver a competitive edge in price, quality and technology to Samsung products
- Evaluate, verify and negotiate the company’s offerings and attain Samsung’s requirements
- Build confidential relationships and networks across the industry to secure a competitive component base
- Assess and mitigate risks of Samsung business, actively identifying potential issues that can affect product strategy, promptly reporting to senior leadership
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's graduand or recent graduate from a reputable institution in Engineering, Science or Business Administration with strong affinity towards IT and consumer electronics products
- Proficiency in MS Office, skills in report and presentation creation
- Fluency in English (primary requirement), Korean and additional European languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish, etc.) highly desired
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with outgoing interpersonal skills
- Tech savvy and commercially astute, basic supply chain and industry knowledge
