Our growing EU -Services team provides research, evaluation, and impact assessment s predominantly
to the European Commission (DG REGIO, DG RTD, etc.) and its agencies but also to other European
and German clients . We are looking for a

Intern/Trainee (m/ f)
placed in Brussels starting in March 201 8.
You will support our Business Unit Economy | Innovation | Region in the following fields:
• European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF ; especially ERDF ) and other EU
instruments
• Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3) , innovation policy and regional innovation systems
• Evaluation (ex -ante to ex -post evaluations) and impact assessments of EU policies
• Trend analysis (e.g. on Circular economy) , market and industry analysis, regional analys is

Main responsibilities: As an Intern /Trainee you will support our team in the development and delivery
of accurate, timely, and high quality products and services to our clients. This includes supporting the
development of research and evaluation methods , performing quantitative and qualitative data
analysis , and supporting the preparation of reports and presentations to support policy decisions by
our clients. You will be typically working on multiple projects under the guidance of experienced
project manager s.

Skills and exp erience: You hold a graduate degree or will soon graduate in economics, public policy,
economic geography or related disciplines with a strong regional economic s background . Moreover,
you have gained f irst specific professional experience through internships or the like in the areas
mentioned above . You are an experienced user of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge about
additional software tools is beneficial (e.g. SPSS, QDA software , etc. ). You have e xcellent verbal and
writing skills in English and German ; additional European languages would be advantageous.

Personal qualities: We are looking for a team player with a positive work ethic and a pro -active ‘can
do’ attitude. You have to be able to manage a varied workload of deadlines without compromising
quality.
