We are currently looking for a Project Officer - Finance (m/f/x) (80-100%) to support our Admin Team in Berlin. The successful candidate will support our project activities at a global level. About TMG Research: We are a Berlin-based research organisation, with a team in Nairobi, Kenya and research sites in Benin, Burkina Faso, Malawi and South Africa, among others. We work on responsible governance and sustainability issues in land, agricultural and food systems, and address the nexus between sustainable development, climate and energy. We are dedicated to the analysis of new and complex challenges in national, European and international contexts and processes, and identifying novel solutions based on sound knowledge and our strong collaboration with a wide range of actors and communities in various fields and locations. Our research projects are developed, conducted and evaluated jointly with actors from science, politics, the private sector and civil society. To strengthen our project operations, our Admin Team is currently recruiting a new Project Officer - Finance (m/f/x) (80-100%) Ref-Nr.: 21-25 Your tasks: Financial controlling and administrative support for proposals and projects Application of and compliance with the rules and guidelines of the funding organisations Cost monitoring and controlling in line with contractual conditions Preparation of invoice lists and financial documentation including interim and final financial reports for internal and external use Preparation of outgoing invoices and calls for funds in coordination with all parties involved Project-related contract drafting and monitoring with project partners, subcontractors, service providers and funders at home and abroad Advising and supporting project partners on financial and administrative project requirements Preparation and coordination of audits and relevant documentation and cooperation with auditors and accountants Ensuring accurate file management and archiving, in particular in relation to third-party funding Support in personnel controlling within the framework of project accounting (time sheets) Your profile: Bachelor's degree or comparable vocational qualification in business, finance, accounting or similar Several years of relevant professional experience (min. 2 years) in project controlling / project finance Excellent knowledge of funding guidelines of donors such as the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), GIZ, EU (H2020) Good knowledge of the Federal Travel Expenses Act (BRKG) and of acquisition/procurement law (VOL/A) would be an advantage Previous experience in bookkeeping and accounting is an advantage Knowledge of accounting programmes (preferably DATEV) Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) Very good written and spoken German (min.
