Insectary

General insectary cleaning and order maintenance .

Cell Culture
- Culturing of erythrocytic stages of Plasmodium falciparum (S2 level): Exchanging culture
medium;

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

B i o l ogy , M ed i c i n e o r an y r e l a t e d sub j ec t s .
- There will be given preference to the cand i da t e s with previous experience in cell culture
work, preferable in Plasmodium cultures and/or human blood cells.
- S h e o r H e m us t b e ava il ab l e t o w o r k regularly on the weekends (one weekend free
per month) and on public holidays.

Die Abteilung für Vektorbiologie sucht EIN oder ZWEI hochmotivierte Hiwi - Studenten für die
Wochenendarbeit im Insektarium und Zellk ultur ab 01.10.2018.

AUFGABEN UND VERANTWORTUNG
Insektarium
- Überwachung und Aufzucht von Stechmücken (Anopheles - Arten):
- Sicherstellung frischer Lebensmittel sowohl von Larven (Leberfutter) als auch von
Erwachsenen (Zuckerbaumwolle);
- Larvenstadium auf optimal e Dichte aufteilen;
- Schwimmende Eier und neue Eierspeisen hinzufügen.
Allgemeine Insektenbekämpfung und Auftragserhaltung.
Die Natur der Arbeit erfordert moderate bis hohe körperliche Aktivität und Mobilität, um
Moskitos Kulturbehälter zu handhaben.
Zellkultur
- Kultivierung der Erythrozyten Stadien von Plasmodium falciparum (S2 - Level): Austausch des
Kulturmediums;

ANFORDERUNGEN

Der erfolgreiche Kandidat muss ein Student in seinen frühen Stadien eines Bachelor -
Abschluss in Biologie, Medizin oder ver wandten Fächern sein.
- Den Kandidaten mit Vorerfahrungen in der Zellkulturarbeit, bevorzugt in Plasmodium zell -
kulturen und / oder menschlichen Blutzellen, wird der Vorzug gegeben.
- Sie oder Er muss verfügbar sein, um an den Wochenenden (ein freies Woche nende pro
Monat) und an Feiertagen regelmäßig zu arbeiten.
- Motivat ion, regelmäßig in einem Insekta r ium zu arbeiten und sich mit Anopheles - und
Plasmodium - Techniken vertraut zu machen.
- Grundlegende Computerkenntnisse für den Umgang mit elektronischen La b - Notebooks
- Effektive Kommunikation in Englisch in schriftlicher und mündlicher Form
- Flexibilität und Teamarbeit
